Meet the Principal

Dear Staff, Parents, and Students,

It is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that I write this letter of introduction to you as the Interim Principal of Richard Allen Preparatory beginning May 2, 2023.  I am truly honored to become a part of this school community with a 20+ year history of excellence in the Greater Dayton area.  In just the few interactions I’ve had with staff, students, and families so far, it has become abundantly clear that this school is a unique and special environment where students can thrive  and become the best versions of themselves.

Professionally, I possess over 15 years of experience in the field of education and am licensed as a school administrator, administrative specialist in curriculum and instruction, and a K-12 Music Teacher.  Motivated by my experiences in school, I received my BA in Music Education, MA in Curriculum and Instruction, MA in Educational Leadership, and EdD in Education Administration and Leadership.  However, it is more important for you to know that I am married to my wife of 10 years, Tia, and am the father of two beautiful special needs sons, Deacon and Justen Jr.  Therefore, I fully understand the challenges and rewards you face everyday as you work to ensure your children have the best educational experiences.

One of the most important aspects of my work here at Richard Allen Prep will be building strong relationships with students, teachers, and families.  You’ll find me in the hallways, classrooms, and at special events and activities.  My goal has been and always will be preparing students for the next chapter of their educational lives.  With that in mind, you can expect that I will work

diligently with teachers to make sure our students are exposed to curriculum and instruction that is both engaging and challenging.  I have an open door policy and welcome your input and ideas.  I’m looking forward to meeting each of you as we start this new and exciting journey together.

Dr. Justen V. Seay, Sr., Principal
